So how does Yakuza Japanese differ from standard Japanese?
Yakuza Japanese has unique grammar structures, unusual pronunciation, and an extremely... colorful vocabulary.
Let's take a look at some basic grammar that is used in Yakuza Japanese.
Basic Grammar
Yakuza Japanese uses different endings, special grammatical patterns, and use particles a lot differently than standard Japanese.
Dropped Particles and Shortened Speech
Similar to informal Japanese, Yakuza Japanese frequently drops particles like は, が, and を when the meanings are most clear.
In addition, much of casual Japanese is shortened down. This is no different in Yakuza Japanese.
Examples include...
何をしている？ → 何してる？
文句がありますか → 文句あるか？ or 文句あんか？
見せ物じゃないよ → 見せ物ねえよ or 見せ物じゃねえよ
Plural Form
Particularly in the Kansai Dialect, the ending ら（等） is used to pluralize words. For example...
俺達（おれたち）→ 俺等（おれら）・俺ら (more commonly used)
お前たち（おまえたち）→ お前ら（おまえら）
あいつ・こいつ・やつ → あいつら・こいつら・やつら
Sentence Endings
Yakuza Japanese has a fun feature where you can attach insults to the ending of any sentence. Here are some examples...
Sentence (Short Form) +（お前、われ、ボケ、アホンダラァ）
All of the words in the last bracket all mean the word "You". But basically, it just makes the sentence more threatening sounding.
Example Sentences
さっさと消えろボケ → Get lost, fuckhead.
何考えてやがるんだアホンダラァ → What the fuck were you thinking, you dumb fucker?
これ以上邪魔すんじゃねぇぞお前 → You better not get in my fucking way, shitheel.
覚悟はできてんのかわれ → Ready to dance, bitch?
Sentence (Short Form) + (コラ・ホラ ・てめぇ）
Used when you are trying to goad a fight
Example Sentences
どこ見てやがるコラ！→ Where the fuck are you looking, bitch?
誰に向かって言ってんだホラ！ → Who the fuck do you think you are talking to, motherfucker?
調子に乗るなてめぇ！ → Don't get too cocky, cocksucker!
そこに座ってろコラ！ → Sit the fuck down right there, you bastard!
言い訳するなホラ！→ I don't wanna hear your excuses, cum for brains.
ぶっ飛ばされてぇのか、てめぇ！→ You wanna get fucking wrecked, cunt?
Sentence (Short Form) + 馬鹿野郎（ばかやろう）
This is basically calling someone "dumbass" or "fool (like Mexican gangster way of saying it "Foool")
Example Sentences
何してんだ、馬鹿野郎！→ What are you doing, fool?
ふざけるな、馬鹿野郎！→ Don't fuck with me, stupid ass.
どこ行くんだ、馬鹿野郎！→ Where da the fuck you going, dumbass?
そんなこと信じるか、馬鹿野郎！→ You think I'd believe that shit, dumbfuck?
これで終わりだ、馬鹿野郎！→ This is the end, bitch
